How about Mozart? My musical advisor recommended that I perform Fantasy in D minor K.397. This little piece is a masterpiece that is often played in concerts, but it is actually famous for being "unfinished". Most people think that Mozart had a larger work in mind and interrupted it. It is still unclear why this happened, but various studies have been conducted.
And, assuming that we are going to end the piece as it is, there are a few ending scores that were added in an attempt to somehow finish the unfinished score. The one that has been played most often for a long time is said to be by Müller. However, there are many musicians who think that such an arrangement is not appropriate considering the structure of this piece. Mitsuko Uchida is one of them, and she performs with a well-thought-out ending.
