Profile - Chibanoinkyo

I am a retiree living in Chiba, Japan, sharing digital performances of classical music created with virtual instruments. After retirement, I began exploring DTM (desktop music production) and also started learning the cello—both of which continue to bring joy to my daily life.

Beethoven’s piano sonatas once felt completely out of reach. I had barely touched a piano in my youth. Yet thanks to MIDI programming, I now find myself, well into my eighties, able to produce performances that are at least somewhat listenable.

The cello, on the other hand, was love at first sight. At my age, however, it quickly became less of a grand pursuit and more of what I like to call an “anti-aging exercise.”

Still, music offers many kinds of joy, and I spend time with it every day, telling myself, “little by little, someday.”

Online I go by “Chibanoinkyo”—a playful nickname that simply means “a retiree in Chiba.”
