Quiet talk-22 Bach Goldberg Variations, Aria.

Aria from Goldberg Variations for violin, viola and cello trio. I used the score arranged by Sitkovetsky for string trio. However, I have restored the slurs in the violin part, which were partially omitted by my teacher's suggestion. The reason for this is because of the cello master Anna Bylsma's insistence that "Bach's slurs should be faithful to the originals..." ("Bach Classics"). (from "Bach, Classics, Cello Anna Bylsma Speaks")

When I started playing the cello and managed to work on Bach's cello unaccompanied, I learned that there are various notations for the slurs in the Prelude No. 1. I was puzzled and asked my lesson teacher what to do.

This idea of going back to the original score! This idea of "going back to the original score" seems to be mentioned by various musicians, and is also mentioned in Yoko Nakamura's book "The Truth of Classical Music Lies in the 'Autograph Notation' of the Great Composers! The truth of classical music is found in the autographs of the great composers!
