It took me quite a long time to make it all the way through this piece as well, and as a result, the lesson notes compiling my teacher’s comments have become quite thick—truly a treasure for me.
Now, how do the two passages marked Klagender Gesang sound to you?
The key, I suppose, is to differentiate the two “songs of lament,” each with its own character, and to shape them with that contrast clearly in mind. Still, when I come back to the recording after some time, various details begin to bother me again. I think I will give it another try.
